Making Dreams Come True in 70 Days

How to get 150,000 people to read your blog post in 1 week

*Sixty seven more days to make my dreams come true!

This is not really a question that I can answer from experience. In fact, it’s not even about a topic I even dreamed of answering. At least, until now.

I just read a post with the same title at Ramit Sethi’s blog, I Will Teach You to be Rich.

It’s a mind opening post because it sheds some answers to the questions that are obvious, but perhaps only to those who can see the entire picture. Ramit is definitely one of those people, and I’m grateful that he’s sharing this information.

In a nutshell, according to Ramit, there are two primary factors in getting people to come to your blog. One is to have quality content on your blog, and the other is to write amazing guest posts on other relavant blogs.

A guest post is basically a post that you write that is posted on someone else’s blog. Usually it’s a blog that has a good amount of traffic already, and it’s an act that leads to benefits for everyone involved.

Provided that your guest post is fantastic, it helps the blog owner because he’ll have some great content that will keep and build readers on his site. It helps the readers because it provides them the interesting content that they seek. And it helps you because those readers will notice the author and come visit your blog to see if you have other similar great content to offer.

Learning about this is very significant for me because I’m going to need to generate that traffic on my blogs/websites from here on out to achieve my dreams. And now I know I can do it.

If you’re interested in the topic, I suggest that you should read the article, and all the articles linked within it.  I’m sure you’ll find a lot to gain from it as well.

I’m going to take tomorrow to really start planning the foundation for my professional website, and start spending time to generate some quality content on it. And once I have a bit, I’ll start writing some guests posts as well.

And you know what, I know I can do it. And it’s largely in part because of all of you who have been supporting me through this blog so far. Your words of encouragement and advice have given me tremendous support. It’s now time that I start taking steps along the path that’s been proven.

  1. I will definitely check that site out. No doubt a valuable tool.

  2. Sounds like a very smart idea. I’ve been thinking, another way you could expand your web presence and get your name and face out there is to create a youtube channel! People love videos (even more than blogs sometimes – we’re lazy) because they’re quick, easy, and visual. You could make videos explaining an outfit like your recent post but in video, or make a weekly video feature like “styling quick-tip.” It would be a great way to build a following. Eventually you could even do like an “Ask the Stylist”-type video where they leave comments with questions about styling and you can make videos to answer them (or just common styling mishaps). It’s just an idea, but I would definitely watch the RaamenStyle Channel!

    yeah I’m definitely sure it would be helpful! We can’t underestimate the power of the web nowadays.

    @Katie
    Actually, that’s a really great idea! Considering that there’s already a large population on youtube that’s not a bad idea. It’s also great because I’ve been pondering about the amount of time it will take me to write out detailed posts in Japanese. This is a good way to get around it!
